Eda Er is a composer, multimedia artist, and vocalist whose work integrates storytelling, sound, and visual media to explore themes of identity, belonging, trauma, and cultural heritage. She combines electronic music, classical composition, traditional Turkish visual arts, and installation with emerging technologies to challenge artistic boundaries.

Her compositions have been performed internationally by ensembles such as the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Multilatérale, Kugoni Trio, Hermes Ensemble, Hezarfen Ensemble, Atlas Ensemble, MusikFabrik, and Ninth Planet, and featured at festivals and institutions including Gaudeamus Festival, Festival Mixtur, IKSV International Theater Festival, and CNMAT. She has collaborated with renowned soloists such as Nicholas Isherwood and Johanna Vargas, and her works have been presented across Europe and the United States.

Eda's research focuses on integrating Ebru, the traditional Turkish marbling art, as a visual and performative notation system in music composition. This exploration is at the core of her project Fluid Narratives, which investigates how Ebru’s organic forms can be translated into sound and interdisciplinary performance structures. More about this project can be found at www.fluidnarratives.com.

She is a recipient of the Nicola de Lorenzo Prize in Music Composition (2024) and an alumna of the Académie Voix Nouvelles at Royaumont. She has studied with Ken Ueno, Edmund Campion, Myra Melford, and Carmine-Emanuele Cella, and has participated in masterclasses and lessons with Philippe Leroux, Du Yun, Francesco Filidei, Chaya Czernowin, Eva Reiter, Yann Robin, Toshio Hosokawa, and Rand Steiger, among others.

She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Music Composition with a Designated Emphasis on New Media at the University of California, Berkeley, affiliated with CNMAT (Center for New Music and Audio Technologies) and BCNM (Berkeley Center for New Media).
