CNMAT composer and researcher, Andrew Blanton, will be featured in Portal Refractions, a New Art City Physical Activation. The event is hosted by Gray Area.

Rage Thormbones will complete their residency at CNMAT this month and present a concert of works by UC Berkeley composers. They have worked closely with the duo over past months to develop pieces that range from ecstatic grim comedy to improvisatory murmurings. There will be a light reception to follow the concert.

As part of his composition, Kobi, which will be premiered at Milano Musica in May 2022 by Les Percussions de Strasbourg, Professor Carmine Cella is working to complete the first model of an augmented Mbira. Carmine has partnered with Ozias Macoo, an instrument builder from Mozambique who has built a special Mbira for the project.
