Xavier Chabot, flute

Xavier Chabot, born in France, is a flutist and performance artist whose work combines music, improvisation, theater, dance, and electronics. Chabot holds a French National Conservatory Diploma in flute, a Ph.D. in music from the University of California, San Diego, a Masters in Physics and Computer Sciences from the University of Paris. He has studied Noh theater and Japanese traditional music in Japan. Chabot co-founded the chamber music ensemble SCOHY in France. He has worked at IRCAM, a music research institute in Paris, and has taught music in the Arts Department at Rensselear Polytechnic University, Troy. He currently lives in the San Francisco area, performing, teaching, and as audio expert in a semiconductor company.
