Carmine-Emanuele Cella, 6 percussionists with smart instruments -- Commissioned by Percussions de Strasbourg

Written in mirror with Persephassa by Iannis Xenakis and using the same spatial arrangement, Kore (written by Carmine-Emanuele Cella during several residencies with the Percussions de Strasbourg) deploys real-time electronics and six new instruments that the composer calls Xulons. These smart-percussions completely modify the sound and the interaction with the performer according to his gesture. This process creates augmented instruments that can fully integrate the listening space, merging the immersiveness of the global electronics with the location of the source and creating a new paradigm for listening to the electronic sound.

First performance: Milano, Hangar Bicocca, http://www.percussionsdestrasbourg.com/repertoire/kore/?p_key=rep-5570
