Deprecated features in Max5

Posted by Jeff Lubow on November 12, 2009

There are a couple of things that don't work in Max5 that used to work in 4.
I am going to try to keep a log of these as time goes by. Of course this post will stay open for comments if anyone else finds any.

1. buffer~ no longer supports init arguments, specifying an initial offset in ms from 0 in order to load a segment of your audio file

Livid Block with micro-OSC

Posted by admin on November 11, 2009

I am working on getting micro-OSC to run on the PIC processor that powers the new Livid Block controller.

This isn't a PIC that I've worked with before but we anticipate no significant problems. The Livid Block has a USB-MIDI interface out of the box.

Buchla "Thunder" 222e Surface with micro-OSC

Posted by admin on November 11, 2009

I am working on embedding micro-OSC into the Buchla 222e control surface. This is a capacitive many touch surface with a layout identical to the classic Buchla Thunder.

- Sampling rate is 100hz.
- The ADC bit depth is 12-bit at the converter, about 9 bits are typically reported.
- The TTL serial rate is 188kbps with 3.3v signaling.
